What students and industry have to say

In my role, no day is the same as the last because of the huge variety in the work that I do. One week I am developing code for our website, and the next I am working in three dimensions using VR glasses. I can keep many different skills – skills I originally began building at SAIT – sharpened as I advance in my career.

I came to SAIT with an interest in photography. Over the course of my program, I was exposed to many different digital tools allowing me to translate this interest into a clear vision for my career. I’m now a small business owner.

Digital technologies are redefining – and disrupting – the world of art. Things like artificial intelligence are performing tasks that a human would have done ten or twenty years ago. At SAIT, I’m learning how to be part of this disruption and how it can shape new opportunities I come across in the future.

All of the services and programs at SAIT come together to make me feel like I am truly supported as a student. From the cultural supports at Natoysopoyiis to the academic supports to the opportunities for financial resources to help complete my studies, I have met so many different groups and people willing to help.

The hands-on learning at SAIT allowed me to be exposed to everything from the Adobe suite of programs to web design to coding – in each of these experiences, I gained confidence in my ability to understand and apply new technologies as I chart my own career course.

a view of the moutains and stream in between

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit’ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
