Dass-Brown Experiential Learning School (D-Bels) hosts region’s biggest conclave on parenting and entrepreneurship

Chandigarh, December 23, 2024: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School (D-BELS), in collaboration with TRINITi, brought together thought leaders, policymakers, educators, entrepreneurs, and parents at ENPARC 2024—a conclave on Raising Future Entrepreneurs: Next-Gen Parenting—held at CII Chandigarh.
The event opened with an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and inspiration, followed by a keynote address by Praveen Sinha, IPS ADGP NRI Affairs, Punjab.
Addressing the audience, Sinha emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence in preparing children for an increasingly tech-driven world.
He highlighted the role of ethics and empathy in leadership, urging parents and educators to focus on skill-based learning and experiential education to build confident and responsible individuals.
The first panel discussion, moderated by Ritika Khuranna, Founder of The Workshop and STEM Curriculum Specialist, focused on Raising Future Entrepreneurs and how to foster an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. Jyotika Bedi, Founder of Happiness is Love, spoke about the importance of emotional well-being as a foundation for entrepreneurial growth.
Sourav Munjal, Founder of Lahori Jeera, shared insights on encouraging problem-solving skills and business acumen in children. Harit Mohan, CEO of Signicent, and Sameer Sharma, Founder of uEngage, emphasized creating opportunities for real-world learning and leveraging technology to prepare students for the future economy.
Later, Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, CEO & MD of Kalorex Group, captivated the audience with her talk on ‘Total Parenting Solutions’. An edupreneur and author, Dr. Shroff delved into modern-day parenting challenges, advocating for a balanced approach between discipline, independence, and creativity.
She emphasized the need to nurture emotional intelligence, adaptability, and leadership in children, ensuring they are future-ready and resilient.
The second panel, moderated by Anju Mehta, CBSE Master Trainer and Former Principal, turned the spotlight on Next Gen Parenting and how to raise children for an unknown future.
Vivek Atray, former IAS officer and motivational speaker, inspired the audience with his insights on mindfulness, curiosity, and character building. He encouraged parents to prioritize emotional stability and resilience over academic scores.
Komal Talwar, Founder of XLSCOUT, spoke about design thinking and innovation, while Kavita Das, Retired Principal of St. John’s High School, emphasized values-based education. Harpreet Randhawa, Lead Education Specialist at Apple Education, shared how technology-driven learning can enhance creativity and adaptability.
A highlight of the conclave was the presentation by two young girls—YESpreneurs—from the Young Entrepreneurs School (YES) at DCM Ludhiana. They shared how their business ideas, developed through the YES program, had advanced to the final round of the upcoming Idea Fest. Their success story underscored the impact of experiential learning in building confidence, creativity, and leadership among students.
Concluding the event, Kamal Kishor Yadav, Secretary, School Education, Punjab, commended D-BELS and TRINITi for creating a transformative platform that blends education, parenting, and entrepreneurship strategies. He urged schools to modernize their approaches by incorporating experiential learning, AI, and entrepreneurship, preparing children to lead in a globalized world.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Ruchika Sharma, Chief Learning Officer at D-BELS, said, “ENPARC 2024 is not just a conclave—it’s the start of a movement. At D-BELS, we believe in nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and resilience through experiential learning, ensuring our students are ready for the challenges of tomorrow.”
With discussions ranging from parenting solutions to entrepreneurship and education, ENPARC 2024 left the audience inspired and motivated to rethink the way they approach learning and parenting.
